About the Website

Website 1.0

The website idea was conceptualized way back in 2002 when Brod Melchor Dollolasa Cichon Jr. was having the time of his life tinkering with the internet. Back then, internet connection was still using dial up to upload internet contents. It just dawned on him to create a website because every time he searched for a SIGMA CHI website, it’s some US-based fraternity that came out. He established one with a limited content;

www.sigmachi.cjb.net,

the precursor of the ultraguest link:

http://www.ultraguest.com/view/1137394341

which has for itself a guestbook. (This eventually became the real predecessor of the exmeo website we knew of.) Then later on, he passed his design to the website search engines like yahoo.com, google.com, yehey.com, etc. to market the site hoping that those who might accidentally search for the SIGMA CHI Fraternity and the MU SIGMA PHI Sorority will find it. Which, actually, was what really happened. The early cyberspace life of ultraguest had staggered visitors, who did not really engage one another in long-term “network connection.” In fact, it wasn’t until January 16, 2006 that the ultraguest site had its first guest in the person of Brod John Paul Salalila Parker. A trickle of visitors followed thereafter.

Website 2.0

The worldwide web has expanded in leaps and bounds, information has scattered far and wide, and our Brods and Sis have pegged their marks in the four corners of the earth 🌎🌍. Everyone either has a personal cellular phone 📱, a laptop, a desktop or whatever mobile gadget your uneasy fingers can tap onto, to log in social media and get updated of your friendships all over the planet. It is no surprise and the decision was just being wise for the SCA to prioritize the reviving and revitalizing of the old Website to continue the connection, communication and coordination that began with Website 1.0. So, here it is, version 2!
