UPCOMING EVENTS

Every personality that engages in historical journeys, every individual who indulges in sentimental travels, and every human endeavor that is transfixed on forward pursuits is always on the look-out for milestones in which one can keep track of one’s advancement, improvement and development. In its path there may be stepping stones, springboards, roadblocks, labyrinths or dilapidated bridges all meant to try the character of that entity who dared tread the timeline of destiny. So like the rest of established social relations begotten by man, the SIGMA CHI-MU SIGMA PHI duopoly troop in momentous occasions to exult, affirm and expand their common bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood.

PAST EVENTS

30th SIGMA CHI Anniversary

Five years after the Revival, and seven GAs and seven MISs later, the SIGMA CHI Fraternity and the MU SIGMA PHI Sorority jointly marked their Pearl Anniversary through a convergence of hearts and minds all intent to commemorate, remind and live up to the ideals of brotherhood and sisterhood. The die was cast in that, the set of leaders who were inducted during this event were already those who came many batches after the Revival, into the hands of younger ones who were totally alien to the Revival year of 1986, but were not totally greenhorn and who forever changed the faces of the Resident leadership.

35th SIGMA CHI Anniversary

SIGMA CHIans and MU SIGMA PHIans were getting used to having a major congregation of membership every five years since the Revival, and this moment in time was no exemption and no exception from every living Brod and Sis. These gatherings are opportunities to hobnob with and derive from our alumni stories of their success and rise from failures which we can learn about. It is good to stick around with our elder brethren and get acquainted, associated and reached out in this social setting.

40th MU SIGMA PHI Anniversary

Onwards to the new millennium, with the celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the SIGMA CHI and the MU SIGMA PHI, it had become practice, if not tradition, that the sibling association calls upon its members to drop everything and come together once more in joyful praise and thanksgiving for another “lease on life” given, granted and gifted to our very organizational existence in Ruby years. We’ve braved and breezed through the turn of the century, confident that our God-given talents inside and outside the University can be put to good use continually and continuously, wherever the Author of Life takes us. It’s been a rough and tough but exciting ride, and we sailed through.

47th MU SIGMA PHI Anniversary

There’s something about the MU SIGMA PHI Sorority that keeps its members coming back since it was fatefully instituted by its magnanimous Founder and faithfully adhered to by its idyllic members ages ago. Of course, the presence of Brod Tomas Alejan Sajo is first among the equally foremost reasons why after all its forty-seven years of spreading its values and virtues, not to forget of loving reciprocally the brother SIGMA CHIans, they are still at it celebrating all the wonderful years of sisterhood, friendship, comradeship, camaraderie, memories and all the lump sum attributes of sorority-hood.

70th Birthday of Brod Tom

A Night of Euphoria. “Euphoric!” was Brod Tom’s summation of the 70th birthday bash cooked up for his honor. And he has reasons to be. Brod Tomas Alejan Sajo, Brod Tom or Uncle Tom to many of his brods and sis, turned another page in his very colorful, fulfilling and inspiring life. To show our Founder that he is loved, appreciated and affirmed, we SIGMA CHIans and MU SIGMA PHIans bestowed on him the greatest honor and respect we could come up with by feting him to a birthday eve dinner on September 20 and to a birthday dinner on September 21, 2008. As a corollary activity, the officers of the SIGMA CHI Fraternity and the MU SIGMA PHI Sorority for AY 2008-09 were also inducted.

50th Joint Golden Anniversary

Golden Vintage of Sacrifice, Loyalty, Obedience and Service. The Golden Eagle with wings spread wide, symbolizing every SIGMA CHIan and MU SIGMA PHIan, inspired by the charism of St. Augustine, shines and radiates even more as a testament to having members who withstood the test of time, and who continue to serve the community as they remain loyal to the organizations. Our shield is embodied by the vows of Sacrifice, Loyalty, Obedience and Service. These are the values that each Brod and Sis has “lived” for more than 50 years – a fitting tribute for achieving excellence in their chosen field, rendering service to country, the University and for the glory of God.

75th Birthday of Brod Tom

Diamond Star. All the other accolades and validations about Brod Tomas Alejan Sajo speak by themselves already. They tell about the triumphs of a fellow man who envisioned for a venue for his fellow Augustinian students by which they can make a difference in other people’s lives through the exemplary lives of their own, via the avenue of Academic Excellence and Spiritual Refinement. His own life is testament to that. And so, having reached this far, accomplished and affirmed, we exult with him in his diamond years of personifying Sacrifice, Loyalty, Obedience and Service.

55th Joint Anniversary

Remembering Brod Tomas Alejan Sajo and Celebrating His Legacy. We remember with deep gratitude and affection our Founder and First Grand Archon, Brod Tomas Alejan Sajo. He singlehandedly took up the cudgels for us so that we be recognized as the first and only fraternity and sorority in the University of San Agustin. His vision and idealism emboldened him to handpick and organize students whom he thought have potentials for leadership and eventually became potent forces in their own social milieu. He believed in nurturing their capabilities and channeling their energies towards positive and productive endeavors.

This prompted our SCA to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the SIGMA CHI Fraternity via Zoom, and which was attended by around 80 of our comrades from around the globe. Virtual hugs, handshakes, cheers and yells to everyone for all those years of brotherhood and counting…
