Greetings from New Jersey, USA

STEPHEN (JOSE SIXTO) SUPEN MERCADO, BATCH 22

Dear Sister MU SIGMA PHIans,

Congratulations to all of you on the occasion of the 45th Anniversary of the founding of the Mu Sigma Phi Sorority. This illustrious organization has nurtured leaders in our beloved University Of San Agustin, to the City and Province of Iloilo, to the Philippine nation and to the rest of the world where our sisters calls home. It has been said that “Life is a journey and not a destination.” The road we travel in life have twists and turns, peaks and valleys, bumps and pot holes, objects blocking our way while we trod along. It is up to us to decide how to navigate the terrain and handle all those obstacles. We have failures in our professional and personal lives, and we have successes too. And success is sweet because we experienced what it was to fail.

I know of many sisters and brothers who traveled this path in life. Many of them sitting next to you celebrating the anniversary. They are here because they did not give up. I remembered when I was a neophyte undergoing physical and psychological initiation beyond human endurance. In the SIGMA CHI Fraternity and MU SIGMA PHI Sorority we were raised that a quitter never wins. This is why we stand out from the crowd. The Website that was started and maintained by our younger brothers enabled us to bond and communicate with one another all over the world. They took up the challenge to create one and we are reaping the fruits of their labor for the good of us all. We are all closer than ever before and enjoying each other’s company and camaraderie. It is like back in college days again but across generations and continents.

Although I could not be with all of you in this momentous event, all of you will always be in my thoughts and prayers.

God Bless the MU SIGMA PHI Sorority, the SIGMA CHI Fraternity, Dr., Atty., CPA, Brod Tomas Alejan Sajo and our beloved Alma Mater, the University of San Agustin.
