The Revival
September 1972 saw the imposition of Martial Law which enforced the total ban of campus organizations. The SIGMA CHI Fraternity and the MU SIGMA PHI Sorority went into hibernation. The rest was history.
In 1986, in coincidence with the approaching 25th Anniversary of the Fraternity and the Sorority, and the need to revive them in the University, the alumni SIGMA CHIans and MU SIGMA PHIans converged. They agreed to initially select ten young men and ten young women from the different colleges to benefit one-year scholarship each; and to comprise the revival batches of the Fraternity and the Sorority.
Consequently, screening tests and interviews were conducted on the applicants. Ultimately, ten neophytes from both sibling groups were oriented and finally admitted.
From thence sprang more and more young men and women who continuously maintain and sustain the SIGMA CHI Fraternity and the MU SIGMA PHI Sorority alive in the University.
