Greetings Brothers and Sisters of the SIGMA CHI Fraternity and MU SIGMA PHI Sorority!

From the time of the inception of our organization, we brothers and sisters have strived to excel not only on educational but also our professional endeavors. Together, we have developed the spiritual, intellectual, physical, and psychological capabilities of the young men and women in the University, supporting their enhancement and maximizing their personal achievements. We have strengthened our bond as brothers and sisters while staying true to our pledge of diligence, perseverance, and accountability. In all these endeavors, we have affirmed the fraternity and sorority principles: service to God, to the University and to the Fraternity/Sorority.

It was in 1967 that I entered the fraternity as one of the students in the University of San Agustine after meeting the standard scholastic requirements of an average of at least 85 with no subject grade lower than 80. I belong to Batch 19. Even upon joining, I was immediately struck by the closeness among my brothers and sisters. I have learned that promoting brotherhood and sisterhood within the organization can even build the character and integrity of the members. Such a strong bond can be created and strengthened by the frequent meetings of the Fraternity and Sorority members at the campus, i.e., under the Acacia tree immediately at the back of Urdaneta Hall.

From being a Fraternity member for more than fifty years, and now, as successor to our Founder, Tomas Alejan Sajo, I consider my continuing journey in the organization as both a calling and God’s blessing – that, with your help, I may be able to embody the tenets of the code of conduct as a man of integrity and elevate the status of our Fraternity.

Our Founder, promoted the principles of the organization and the bond among its members. Through his leadership and guidance, our members maintained that bond even after graduating from the University and moving to other places and were able to continue being devoted to our organizations and to one another through our thoughts, words, and deeds. It was the Founder’s vision that the members continue to internalize the aims and objectives written in our Constitution and By-Laws and to commit to the vows of SACRIFICE, LOYALTY, OBEDIENCE, and SERVICE.

As the successor of the Founder, I am urging all members to continue to live by the Founder’s vision and abide by the principles he had laid and promoted. I am asking all the brothers and sisters to join the initiative of giving renewed vigor to our organizations by encouraging fit young men and women in the University to be a part our organization.
