Atty. Sedfrey Lopez Cabaluna has had an extensive career experience in media, government, academe, and legal practice. He graduated with an A.B. Political Science degree from the University of San Agustin in 2007. After graduation, he joined mass media as a radio announcer and TV host of various programs under ABSCBN Regional Network Group until 2015. Recently, he worked as Senior Desk Manager and Main Anchor of GMA Regional TV One Western Visayas. He also hosted GMA Regional TV Early Edition and co-anchors the national broadcast of Regional TV News.

In his younger years, he was an active youth leader, spearheading organizations such as the SIGMA CHI Fraternity, Samahan ng Bagong Kabataan and the University of San Agustin-College of Law Supreme Student Council. Many programs and projects that he helped organized together with other youth leaders received both local and national recognition.

He was a topnotcher in the October 2007 Professional Civil Service Examinations with an average of 93.33%. He then served in government as a Public Information Officer of the Commission on Human Rights VI from 2008-2010 and later as Chief Tourism Operations Officer of the Department of Tourism VI from 2018-2020.

While working, he supported himself through law school until he passed the 2013 Philippine Bar Examinations and became a full-fledged lawyer. He joined the Law Firm of Lauron Delos Reyes and Partners as an Associate and became a legal consultant of various Local Government Units and private institutions. He also volunteered his legal services to child abuse victims under the care of the Cameleon Association.

As a certified scuba diver, he spends his free time exploring various dive sites in Western Visayas. He also regularly organizes and participates in coastal and underwater clean-ups.

He is an advocate for sustainable tourism, environmental protection, and youth empowerment. Often, he gets invited to conduct lectures on leadership, tourism, journalism, human rights, effective communication, team building, and other related topics.

His professional work and personal advocacies have given him opportunities to immerse in various communities and engage with individuals from all walks of life. The realizations he derived from these experiences and dialogues became the inspiration for his writings.
